Haram Haqiqatjou #8: Abuse of Hadith to Justify Abusing Women

Background
Daniel Haqiqatjou posted a screenshot of a Q&A in which someone asks if the Prophet ever hit his wife. He screenshots the part of the answer in which this specific translation uses the terminology “painful shove”. This is irresponsible and misleading, as Aisha (ra) herself narrates that the Prophet ﷺ never once hit his wives or servants. Rather, the further commentary explains that this was merely a finger placed on her chest.

Haram Action
Daniel specifically screenshots the section of the hadith translation that insinuates bodily harm was inflicted by the Prophet ﷺ on Aisha (ra), we ask Allah for refuge from such claims and from those who make such references. He then slanders what he refers to as “compassionate imams” by suggesting they teach a “women-worshipping” version of Islam, and we ask Allah to protect us from such language.

Evidence of Haram
“The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not strike a servant or a woman, and he never struck anything with his hand.”
